Nous partons à 5 h 50, nous allons faire un grand bout, cela va être une
longue journée. Notre but est Lixouri en Céphalonie. Le vent est F 3-4 du
nord-ouest, donc presque dans le nez pour nous qui allons nord-ouest aussi et
la houle, 1m-1,5m est du sud-ouest. Tout cela fait qu’Hera II bouge pas mal et
que, pour la première fois de ce voyage, j’ai le mal de mer, donc je suis aux
abonnés absents, somnole, ne peut rien manger … Nous avons un peu de répit
quand nous longeons par l’est l’ile de Zakinthos qui nous protège de la houle,
cela dure 3 h, de midi à 3 h et nous retrouvons la houle après Zakinthos, mais
elle a un peu diminué, 1 m. J’ai pris une pilule pendant ce répit et cela aide
bien. Nous avons le foc bien serré et le moteur. A une heure de Céphalonie,
Jens roule le foc, nous devons aller contre le vent et il ne peut plus porter,
mais ça va, nous prenons la houle de face. Nous entrons dans le
« fjord » de Lixouri et Argostoli. Et c’est beaucoup plus calme. Nous
voyons le pavillon rond de l’entrée vers Argostoli où nous étions arrivés en
juin 2015 avec Fritz et Margret, après une traversée mouvementée de Messina à
Argostoli. Nous arrivons à Lixouri à 18 h 40. Il n’y a guère de place au quai,
des pancartes sont marquées « Gloria. No parking ». Nous nous mettons
entre la dernière pancarte et un ferry stationné en bout de quai. Nous croyons
qu’il est stationné pour de bon et ne navigue plus … Tout petit tour en ville,
le tour de la place, diner au bateau et couchés de bonne heure. Après diner,
j’entends de l’eau qui coule, fort, sur le quai. Je monte voir et trois gamins
sont autour d’un poste d’eau. Ils ont l’air embêtés et l’un me dit « I
can’t close it ». Jens monte sur le quai et l’un des gamins lui demande un
tournevis. Aidé de Jens, il arrive à réparer la fuite. Une belle petite
histoire pour terminer la journée.

We leave at 5:50 a.m., we're going to do a long leg, it's going to be a long day. Our goal is Lixouri in Kefalonia. The wind is F 3-4 from the northwest, so almost in the nose for us who are also going northwest and the swell, 1m-1.5m is from the southwest. All this makes Hera II move quite a bit and for the first time on this trip I get seasick, so I'm absent, dozing, can't eat anything... We get some respite when we skirt by the east the island of Zakinthos which protects us from the swell, it lasts 3 hours, from noon to 3 am and we find again the swell after Zakinthos, but it has decreased a little, 1 m. I took a pill during this respite and it helps a lot. We have the jib tight and the engine. An hour from Kefalonia, Jens rolls the jib, we have to go against the wind and he can no longer carry, but it's ok, we take the swell head on. We enter the “fjord” of Lixouri and Argostoli. And it's much quieter. We see the round pavilion at the entrance to Argostoli where we arrived in June 2015 with Fritz and Margret, after an eventful crossing from Messina to Argostoli. We arrive in Lixouri at 6:40 p.m. There is hardly any space at the quay, signs are marked “Gloria. No parking”. We put ourselves between the last sign and a ferry parked at the end of the quay. We believe that it is parked for good and no longer sails… A short walk in town, around the square, dinner on the boat and an early bedtime. After dinner, I hear water running on the quay. I go up to see, three kids are around a water post, they look annoyed and one tells me “I can’t close it”. Jens gets on the quay and one of the kids asks him for a screwdriver. Helped by Jens, he manages to repair the leak. A nice little story to end the day.
