Calme cette nuit mais fort vent du nord ce matin, F 5, l’ancre tient bien, ça va. Quelques bateaux partent ce matin. Dans le guide, il est écrit que souvent les bateaux qui veulent passer le Cap Maleas de l’ouest vers l’est ancrent ici en attendant un vent favorable pour le passer. Mais hier était beaucoup mieux pour passer le cap qu’aujourd’hui. Peut-être n’y avait-il pas assez de vent ? Il y a plus de bateaux dans cette région parce que le canal de Corinth est fermé, tout le monde doit faire le tour du Péloponnèse pour aller en mer Egée ou en venir. Nous ne pouvons pas aller à terre avec le zodiac, ce serait trop difficile de ramer contre le vent et les vagues. Nous restons donc au bateau et cela me va bien parce que j’ai un blog à rattraper. A 13 h nous ne sommes plus que quatre bateaux : un Turc, un Suisse, un Français et un Norvégien (nous). Après déjeuner, le vent se calme un peu et nous mettons le zodiac à l’eau, mais de fortes rafales arrivent et nous attendons un peu. A 15 h, le vent tourne subitement du nord au sud et Hera II a la proue vers le large. Nous décidons donc de partir, et maintenant il n’y a plus que le Turc dans la baie. Nous allons vers l’ouest, bien sûr, et avons pensé à aller à une ville à 4 heures d’ici, Gidion. En route Jens regarde le guide et trouve un petit port avant, Plitra, dans une baie. Le vent tombe complètement et il se met à pleuvoir des cordes. Nous allons à ce port, il ne pleut plus heureusement, et un pêcheur nous fait signe de jeter l’ancre et de nous mettre perpendiculaire au quai. Il attrape nos amarres, très sympa. Mais après quelques temps, le pêcheur, par signe toujours, nous montre qu’on peut se mettre en long. Très bien. Petite promenade et diner à une taverna. Plitra parait un village calme, calme. Dans la taverna, le seul autre client est un vieux monsieur qui parle bien anglais, il a travaillé 40 ans en Australie. Bien contents d’être dans un petit port, nous sommes les seuls visiteurs.

Calm tonight but strong northerly wind this morning, F
5, the anchor is holding well, fine. A few yachts are leaving this morning. In
the guide, it is written that often boats that want to pass Cape Maleas from
west to east anchor here while waiting for a favorable wind to pass it. But
yesterday was a much better day to get through than today. Maybe there was not
enough wind? There are more boats in this area because the Corinth Canal is
closed, everyone has to go around the Peloponnese to go to or from the Aegean
Sea. We can't go ashore with the dinghy, it would be too difficult to row
against the wind and the waves. So we stay on the boat and that suits me well
because I have a blog to catch up on. At 1 p.m. there are only four yachts
left: a Turkish, a Swiss, a French and a Norwegian (us). After lunch, the wind
calms down a little and we put the zodiac in the water, but strong gusts are
still blowing and we wait a bit. At 3 p.m., the wind suddenly turned from north
to south and Hera II had the bow out to sea. So we decide to leave, and now
there is only the Turk in the bay. We are going west, of course, and we thought
of going to a town 4 hours from here, Gidion. En route Jens looks at the guide
and finds a small harbor, Plitra, in a bay. The wind drops completely and it
starts to rain cats and dogs. We are going to this harbor, it is no longer
raining fortunately, and a fisherman beckons us to drop anchor and stand
perpendicular to the quay. He grabs our moorings, very nice. But after some
time, the fisherman, always by sign, shows us that we can go alongside, good
for us. Walk and dinner at a taverna. Plitra seems a quiet, calm village. In
the taverna, the only other customer is an old gentleman who speaks good
English, he worked 40 years in Australia. Very happy to be in a small harbor,
we are the only visitors.
