Encore un temps moyen, soleil par moment et gris à d’autres. La marina a
deux machines à laver mais une ne marche pas. Jens va de bonne heure mettre une
lessive en route, nous attendons qu’elle soit finie et je la mets à sécher sur
le bateau. J’ai pris une douche et me suis lavé les cheveux, le luxe. Mais la
marina de Kalamata est en perte de vitesse, mal entretenue comparée avec 2016. Puis
nous partons au marché qui est très grand. Il est tout en longueur le long d’un
bâtiment mais est aussi dehors sur une place. Nous achetons des olives (bien
sûr !), du miel et des fruits et légumes. Jens porte tout dans son sac à
dos qui pèse au moins 10 kg. Nous rentrons au bateau, déchargeons nos achats et
repartons à la plage. Comme c’est samedi, il y a un peu plus de monde. Bonne
baignade et retour à Hera II pour déjeuner. En rentrant nous passons à un
chandler et nous achetons un pare-battage pour remplacer celui que j’ai perdu.
Lunch tardif, stillestund (repos) et Jens se lance dans la réparation de la
jauge d’eau. Elle ne marche pas et on ne sait pas combien il reste d’eau dans
le réservoir. Pour atteindre cette jauge, il faut soulever le plancher du
salon, où est fixée la table. Donc nous basculons tout ensemble, table et
plancher, il faut faire attention de ne pas le recevoir sur le pied, c’est
lourd. Je ne peux pas faire le blog en bas et je le fais dehors, mais la
lumière est forte et je ne vois pas grand-chose sur l’écran de mon ordinateur.
Nous travaillons longtemps chacun de notre côté et, comme c’est tard quand on
arrête, nous restons diner au bateau. Un bon avocat de Crète, des haricots
verts tout frais, du camembert et des profiteroles, voilà notre menu. Pendant
que nous dinons, nous voyons la « Port Police » qui vient, pour la
deuxième fois, contrôler nos voisins néerlandais. Et cela n’est pas nécessaire,
les Pays-Bas étant dans l’Union Européenne.

Still average weather, sunny at times and gray at
others. The marina has two washing machines but one doesn't work. Jens goes
early to put on some laundry, we wait for it to be finished and I put it out to
dry on the boat. I took a shower and washed my hair, luxury. But the Kalamata
marina is in decline, poorly maintained compared to 2016. Then we go to the
market which is very big. It is all in length along a building but is also
outside in a square. We buy olives (of course!), honey and fruits and
vegetables. Jens carries everything in his backpack which weighs at least 10
kg. We go back to the boat, unload our purchases and go back to the beach. As
it is Saturday, there are a few more people. We have a good swim and return to
Hera II for lunch. On the way back we go to a chandler and we buy a fender to
replace the one I lost. Late lunch, stillestund (rest) and Jens embarks on
repairing the water gauge. It does not work and we don’t know how much water is
left in the tank. To reach this gauge, we have to lift the floor of the living
room, where the table is fixed. So we incline everything together, table and
floor, you have to be careful not to get it on your foot, it's heavy. I can't
blog downstairs and I do it outside, but the light is strong and I can't see
much on my computer screen. We work a long time each on our side and, as it is
late when we stop, we stay for dinner on the boat. A good Cretan avocado, fresh
green beans, camembert and profiteroles, that's our menu. While we dine, we see
the “Port Police” which comes, for the second time, to control our Dutch
neighbors. And this is not necessary, the Netherlands being in the European Union.
