Beau temps, enfin une belle journée assez chaude. Nous assistons à la
distraction du matin dans les ports grecs : un bateau qui veut partir et
qui accroche l’ancre du voisin. Mais un pauvre Polonais n’a vraiment pas de
chance, il en accroche une, cela prend du temps à démêler et il en accroche encore
une autre. Un petit voilier français de Sète avec trois jeunes est venu se
mettre à côté de nous. Bonne nouvelle : Jens a installé une échelle devant
qui me permet de monter et descendre plus élégamment qu’en me faisant pousser
les fesses. Nous partons en vélo pour aller de l’autre côté de l’ile voir des
formations rocheuses particulières, et en plus ce sera à l’abri du vent pour se
baigner. Cela monte bien et nous avons une belle vue sur la baie. Cette grande
baie ici à Milos est, comme à Santorin, le cratère d’un ancien volcan. C’est
inimaginable de penser qu’il y a eu une éruption si puissante qu’elle a fait cet
immense cratère. Nous arrivons à ce lieu, Sarakiniko, et c’est vraiment
spécial, de grandes « dunes » dures et blanches, érodées par le vent.
Nous nous baignons, l’eau parait plus froide qu’à Sifnos. Nous rentrons en
faisant une boucle et un motard s’arrête pour nous demander la route à
Pollonia. Il demande d’où nous venons et nous parle alors en norvégien ! C’est
un Polonais qui a travaillé cinq ans à Oslo. Nous rentrons, lunch au bateau,
stillestund et à 15 h 30, Jens a un zoom avec Edmond, son collègue d’Albanie.
Puis deuxième tour en vélo, nous faisons presque tout le tour de la baie et
allons jusqu’à l’aéroport et voyons des installations pour charger des minéraux
sur des bateaux et aussi des marais salants abandonnés. Jens va faire des
courses pour le diner et achète un filet de poisson surgelé où tout est écrit
en grec … et qui s’avère être salé, mais en le dessalant bien ça va. Il vient
peut être de Norvège.

Good weather, finally a nice warm day. We are
witnessing the morning entertainment in the Greek ports: a boat which wants to
leave and which hooks the neighbor’s anchor. But a poor Pole is really unlucky,
he hooks one, it takes time to untangle and he hooks yet another one. A small
French sailboat from Sète with three young people came next to us. Good news:
Jens has installed a ladder in front which allows me to climb up and down more
elegantly than by pushing my buttocks. We ride to go to the other side of the
island to see particular rock formations, and in addition it will be sheltered
from the wind to swim. It’s quite steep and we have a nice view of the bay.
This large bay here in Milos is, like in Santorini, the crater of an ancient
volcano. It is unimaginable to think that there was an eruption so powerful
that it made this huge crater. We arrive at this place, Sarakiniko, and it is
really special, big hard and white “dunes”, eroded by the wind. We swim, the
water seems colder than in Sifnos. We return by making a loop and a biker stops
to ask us the road to Pollonia. He asks where we come from and then speaks to
us in Norwegian! He is a Pole who worked for five years in Oslo. Lunch on the
boat, stillestund and at 3:30 p.m., Jens has a zoom with Edmond, his colleague
from Albania. Then second bike tour, we go almost all around the bay ,go to the
airport and see facilities to load minerals on boats and also abandoned salt
pans. Jens goes shopping for dinner and buys a frozen fish fillet where
everything is written in Greek...and which turns out to be salted, but
desalting it well is fine. Maybe it comes from Norway.
