29.04.2023. Ermoupolis-Sifnos.

Bonne météo, le vent du nord qui a soufflé fort ces derniers jours a baissé
et la météo prévoit un vent F 3-4 du nord, très bien pour nous qui allons
sud-ouest vers Sifnos. Je vais donner nos restes de pain aux canards avant de
partir. Une dame leur donne à manger tous les jours et aujourd’hui, le menu est
du maïs. Nous passons dire au revoir à
John et Sigrun, c’était sympa de se rencontrer, nous nous souhaitons
mutuellement bon vent, et nous partons à 10 h 30. La marina inachevée est en
fait une bonne place, c’est bien protégé, c’est propre et sûr. Nous déroulons
le foc et espérons faire toute la journée à la voile. Mais en fait le vent
baisse et nous n’allons vraiment pas vite. Donc, à 13 h nous roulons le foc qui
ne porte plus guère et démarrons le moteur. Peu de vent mais encore des vagues
d’hier donc Hera II roule, on ne peut rien faire. La seule distraction est la
rencontre de deux bateaux que nous croisons, un voilier et un navire. Nous
longeons Sifnos par l’est et je ne reconnais rien. Je crois que les autres fois
nous arrivions par l’ouest. Nous voyons Apollonia et Kastro de la mer. Nous
arrivons à Vathi à 17 h. Nous nous mettons à « notre » place, sur le
côté du quai devant l’église. Petit tour à terre et nous allons voir le
restaurant d’Anastasia, la charmante jeune femme qui parle français. Déception :
le restaurant est fermé. Nous demandons au voisin et il nous dit qu’Anastasia
est à Athènes pour la naissance de son deuxième enfant. Je lui envoie un mail
lui souhaitant bonne chance. Nous dinons donc chez le voisin.

Good weather, the north wind which has been blowing
hard for the past few days has dropped and the weather forecast predicts an F
3-4 wind from the north, very good for us who are going south-west towards
Sifnos. I'll give our leftover bread to the ducks before I leave. A lady feeds
them every day and today the menu is corn. We pass by to say goodbye to John and
Sigrun, it was nice to meet them, we wish each other fair winds, and we leave
at 10:30 am. The unfinished marina is actually a good place, it is well
protected, it is clean and safe. We unfurl the jib and hope to sail all day.
But in fact the wind drops and we are really not going fast. So at 1 p.m. we
furled the jib, which no longer does its job, and start the engine. Little wind
but still waves from yesterday so Hera II is rolling, we can’t do anything. The
only distraction is the meeting of two boats that we pass, a sailboat and a
ship. We skirt Sifnos to the east and I don't recognize anything, I think the
other times we came from the west. We see Apollonia and Kastro from the sea. We
arrive in Vathi at 5 p.m. We put ourselves in “our” place, on the side of the
quay in front of the church. A short trip ashore and we go to see the Anastasia’s
restaurant, she is the charming young woman who speaks French. Disappointment:
the restaurant is closed. We ask the neighbor and he tells us that Anastasia is
in Athens for the birth of her second child! I send her an email wishing her
good luck. So we have dinner at the neighbor.
