Bien reposés après une bonne nuit. Et autant on a « dansé » toute
la journée hier, autant la mer est calme ce matin. Nous allons faire une
promenade vers le nord en longeant la côte et voyons, à 200 m du bateau, un
vieux monastère et en face du monastère un grand bâtiment moderne. Une plaque
dit en grec et en anglais que c’est « Orthodox Academy of Crete ».
Nous rentrons peu après parce que le « diesel man » va venir livrer
du diésel quand il aura fini de le faire à un grand yacht à moteur. Le gars du
grand yacht s’excuse auprès de Jens, nous sommes arrivés hier presqu’en même
temps et il a pris une place près d’une borne d’électricité. Jens dit que ce
n’est pas un problème et que nous sommes bien où nous sommes. Il fait beau et
presque chaud : je retire ma deuxième paire de chaussettes ! Ces
chaussettes de laine et les couvertures ont sauvé la situation ! Jens va
faire un tour en vélo pendant que je rattrape les blogs, mais il se met à pleuvoir.
Il va donc s’abriter dans un café et prend un café grec. Après le lunch, nous
reprenons la bonne habitude du « stillestund » et je fais un sudoku,
le premier depuis longtemps. Nouveau tour en vélo, en ville. Kolimvari est une
station balnéaire, bien tranquille pour le moment, la saison n’a pas encore débuté.
La lumière est forte et je m’achète des lunettes de soleil. La dame est désolée,
les modèles de 2023 ne sont pas encore arrivés. Du coup, j’achète de bonnes
lunettes de soleil pour 5 €. Dans le port, un voilier a un nom danois et vient
d’un port danois. Quand nous y repassons en allant diner, le propriétaire est à
bord, et oui, il est bien danois. Il habite à quelques km d’ici depuis 2008.
Nous l’invitons à venir diner avec nous, mais il ne peut pas, il a la visite de
sa fille. Plusieurs restaurants sont ouverts mais sont presque vides. Un propriétaire
a eu la bonne idée d’installer un chauffage, et son restaurant est plein. Nous y
allons et c’est bon, sans les sempiternelles frites, les parts sont raisonnables
… et le chauffage est apprécié.

Well rested after a good night. And compared with our “dancing”
all day yesterday, the sea is calm this morning. We ride to the north along the
coast and see, 200 m from the boat, an old monastery and in front of the
monastery a large modern building. A plaque says in Greek and English that it
is “Orthodox Academy of Crete”. We return to the boat soon after because the
"diesel man" will come to deliver diesel when he has finished doing
so to a large motor yacht. The guy from the big yacht apologizes to Jens, we
arrived yesterday almost at the same time and he took a good place near an
electricity terminal. Jens says it's no problem and we're fine where we are.
It's sunny and almost warm: I take off my second pair of socks! Those woolen
socks and blankets saved the day! Jens goes for a bike ride while I catch up on
the blogs, but it starts to rain. So he goes to take shelter in a cafe and has
a Greek coffee. After lunch, we resume the good habit of
"stillestund" and I do a sudoku, the first one in a long time. New
bike tour, in town. Kolimvari is a seaside resort, very quiet for the moment,
the season has not started yet. The light is strong and I buy sunglasses. The
lady is sorry, the 2023 models have not yet arrived. So, I buy good sunglasses
for 5 €. In the harbor, a sailboat has a Danish name and comes from a Danish
port. When we go back there on our way to dinner, the owner is on board, and
yes, he is Danish. He has lived a few km from here since 2008. We invite him to
come and have dinner with us, but he cannot, his daughter is visiting. Several
restaurants are open but are almost empty. An owner had the good idea to
install a heater, and his restaurant is full. We go and it's good, without the
ever present fries, the portions are reasonable... and the heating is appreciated.
